WELCOME TO WEDGEFIELD - A Deed Restricted Community

Wedgefield Neighborhood Watch – February – March 2018

From February 8 to the present date of March 10, 2018, based on Orange County Sheriff’s crime statistics and individual reports not yet reflected in the statistics there have been 3 residential burglaries. One on Archer in the 2400 Block, One in the 20400 Block of Netherland, and One in the 20500 Block of Quarterly.

We had a total of 3 reported automobile burglaries Two on ALABASTER in the 2500-2700 blocks and One on ABBY in the 3200 Block.

With the warmer weather, we will see an increase in auto burglaries as it is more comfortable to be out at night. This leads to a suggestion that every parent inventories their children’s room. In my household (years ago) it led to my oldest daughters attempt to grow pot to be intercepted by my wife. The makeshift garden contents were promptly replaced with carrot seeds that were carefully tended to by our daughter until she discovered the replacement did not provide the desired results.

We do continue to have solicitor issues. If they act suspiciously or you are concerned by their actions immediately call the non-emergency number (407) 836-4357 or 911 depending on the issue and then me at (407) 679-6644.
Remember we NEVER OPEN OUR DOOR to someone unless we know who it is and we want to talk with them. If we do not want to talk with them be sure they know someone is home by saying GO AWAY or HARRY GET YOUR GUN even if HARRY does not live with you. Remember the method to gain access to a burglary is most often started by ringing the doorbell to see if anyone is home followed by going in the back and breaking into the home.

Special thanks to Denise Grage our NHW Facebook Coordinator for keeping our NHW Facebook page neighborly and smooth running. Through her efforts, we continue to add residents to the membership. Keep up the good work Denise we thank you.

Now let us all be good neighbors and make the effort to be observant and take appropriate action “SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING”

To report a crime in progress, fire or medical emergency Dial 911. The number to report suspicious activity or a crime committed Dial 407-836-HELP (4357).

After dialing the appropriate OCSO Number:

PLEASE THEN CALL PHIL UNSER at 407-679-6644 (24hrs). This helps Phil to keep an accounting of what is happening in our neighborhood and make sure that these reports stay accurate and up-to-date.
