The Garden Club chose 6048 Dolphin Circle for Yard of the Month for July.
As you approach this home, its well cared-for and manicured lawn and gardens of over an acre grab your attention. The owners have spent the past 15 years
perfecting their yard. Their secret is converting to native plants that fare well and, with regular fertilization, need little maintenance.
The gardens are filled with an abundance of native plants. As you first see the garden, you notice all the colors, lots of purple Iris, with a pop of orange from the Ixora plants. The Fox Fern is a light green that contrasts beautifully with the dark green of ivy. We were told the deer love her Hibiscus, but the plants were hardy and healthy and have come back.
A fountain rounded out one side of the garden with the soft sounds of water bubbling. On the other side of the garden, you will find several Hostas, a Dusty Miller and a Climbing Bleeding Heart, which add a great pop of color along with several white Crepe Myrtle trees. The softly padded bench invites you to sit and enjoy the gardens while listening to the water and the birds. The entire property is lined with mature trees such as gum and maple, which complete the entire look.
