WELCOME TO WEDGEFIELD - A Deed Restricted Community

Wedgefield NHW- No pursuit, No patrol, No confrontation, JUST WATCH and REPORT

During the last half of AUGUST to the present date of SEPTEMBER 9, 2017 based on Orange County Sheriff’s crime statistics listed on the OCSO web site we have had only 1 reported residential burglary in the 19000 block of MOORGATE. We also had a stolen vehicle in the 2200 block of ALBION and a Commercial Burglary in the 20700 block of MACON. I am certain that we have had other crimes that have not made it to the web site nor have the victims called me as I have requested.

CHANGING THE SUBJECT – This year the NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH NIGHT OUT is to be held on Tuesday OCTOBER 3rd . The published theme this year is “Making Time for Ridding Crime.”  We are tasked with coming up with a celebration theme that relates and I have selected “MAKE TIME to MEET and GREET your NEIGHBOR a Neighborly event” as our theme. This is something we should already be doing; that is getting to know our neighbors. Remember the best crime prevention device known to man or woman is a “GOOD NEIGHBOR” and a good neighbor is one that knows what to do when things do not look right – they call OCSO. So on August 1st Turn the porch light on and lock the door and go next door to meet the neighbors.
Back to our crime reports, Mr. Roger Secrist commissioned a review of our crimes in July and it clearly showed that we are failing to secure our property thus making it readily available to the next criminal that comes by. Seriously, let’s all try to lock up and in the case of our automobiles use the “BAG IT” approach where you take with you all valuables when you park and lock your car, be it at work or home.

On a happy note EVELYN RODRIGUEZ PEREZ continues to keep our Wedgefield NHW Face Book page neighborly and smooth running with 1,631 MEMBERS with several in the Q.

Now let us all be good neighbors and make the effort to be observant and take appropriate action “SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING”
