Yard of the Month Club

April showers bring May Flowers. A pop of color was the theme this month

June YOM was found in the Reserves at the home of Elvira Ajero and her husband, located at 19719 Glen Elm. The whole picture is what attracted us to this home, from the perfect lawn to the pop of color.

Upon arrival, we met two of the nicest people. They graciously invited us into their home to talk a bit about their lives and how they maintain their beautiful yard. The couple has called Florida home since 2003, although her husband is originally from Texas and Elvira is from the Philippines. They met working at the UN in New York City, where they resided for 30 years. They are world travelers and have seen many beautiful places. Elvira is an active member of The Reserves’ HOA and believes in keeping up her community through action.

As we strolled through her gardens we found Bougainvillea’s, Crepe Myrtle, Blue Globe Agapanthus, Ixora in a Red and Yellow mixture, a couple of Red Sisters, Crown of Thorns and a white and red mixture of Hibiscus throughout. Together this makes for a very colorful combination. To top it off they have the perfect lawn, for which Elvira gives Massey Lawn Service the credit. She said Massey came out and did a yard analysis. They advised them to strip off the old sod and resod. Now, Massey keeps the lawn in tiptop condition. It was a pleasant afternoon spent with lovely people.

Our honorable mentions go to 2612 Pine Glen Court, 2736 Lyndscape St. (with a nice selection of color), 19613 Mardi Gras (with their beautiful rolling lawn and waving palms) 2106 Caesars Court (what a great English Cottage feel). 2850 Regency Oak Lane, 2837 Regency Oak Lane, 2709 Regency Oak Lane, 19306 Timber Pine and 19336 Briar Crest. Your labor of love is evident.
