WELCOME TO WEDGEFIELD - A Deed Restricted Community

Wedgefield Water Update (Mar 13, 2018 written by Pam Dimarzio, 321-234-6671)

Orange County Utility completed their verification and have returned the original signature forms to the Wedgefield HOA. Since they are hiring a lawyer to approach Pluris, some of their activities will not be available to us. This is in our best interest. However, our “Water Committee” will be getting more updates and we will share as much as we can.

For now, as residents, we still have work to do. As discrepancies in your billing, water quality or water service occur, please report them to the proper authorities: FDEP, Orange County Commissioners and Mayor and Public Service Commission. See below for all the addresses. In addition, the comment form for the PSC is being reprinted in our April newsletter. We still have time to get comments into the PSC to help our case with OCU AND help possible affect the water rate increase that Pluris has requested. There is a quick update below on the rate increase.

Quick Update on Water Rate Increase (Docket 20170166)

The schedule for the rate increase has been pushed back again. See PSC website for additional info (www.psc.state.fl.us). The Office of Public Counsel (OPC) has written to the PSC on behalf of the customers of Pluris on Mar 6, 2018. They are asking for PSC ” make a finding regarding the appropriate return on equity for Wedgefield and appropriate overall rate of return to be used in setting rates in this docket.” In the letter, it states “OPC asserts the Utility’s requested cost of equity and resulting cost of capital is overstated and unreasonable. “ PSC is also scrutinizing the cost associated with the meters, meter location costs, retiring of old equipment, and much more.
