WELCOME TO WEDGEFIELD - A Deed Restricted Community

Wedgefield School News

To all our parents, students family members, community members, and business partners we would like to thank you for a successful first semester of the school year. You have continued to support our staff, faculty, and students at every turn. This year we have more ADDitions volunteers than ever coming into our school to help in the cafeteria, the media center, the various committees, Teach-In and other activities around campus.

Teach-In

November 14th at Wedgefield School was our annual “Teach-In” Day. This is a day where our parents, community and business partners come in and speak to our students about their careers and hobbies. This year all 950 students were able to see at least one teach-in speaker, but many students were visited most of their school day. Wedgefield School students had K-9 units, airline workers, construction managers, firefighters, lineman, engineers, and our school board member, among a few of the great community members who shared their profession. Wedgefield School wants to thank all who were able to come this year, and we look forward to even more members of the community coming in 2019.

Thanksgiving Family Lunch

This year’s lunch was a huge success. We served over 300 meals to our families this year. Thank you for coming!

Veteran’s Day

Our students did an amazing job honoring the Veteran’s in the community during the Veteran’s Day Celebration on Nov. 12. The students, staff, and faculty were honored to dedicate this morning to our servicemen and women and their families. Joie Cadle, District 1 School Board Member and Mindi Smith, Executive Area Director joined us to help us honor our Veteran’s too. Each grade level performed during the celebration with song, poem or information about our Armed Forces. Then we followed up with our own Jazz Band and reception in the Media Center. We appreciate those who came out to join us. It was a great day.
