UPDATED PSC MEETING INFORMATION FOR TUESDAY 11/2/17

Info for the PSC Meeting on Thursday 11/2 from Pam DiMarzio
– they apparently tried to do an evening meeting but because of scheduling had to choose this date/time.
– PSC will start promptly at 9am with a small presentation on what this rate increase covers and how/what they use to evaluate it.
– Then it is open for public comment. They will record (audio and video) the entire comment period. When you arrive there will be a sign up for who wants to speak. They will call in that order. For now, they are not putting a time limit on anyone. If they end up have a lot of speakers they may then limit us to 3 minutes per person.
– If you cannot attend this meeting but still want your voice to be heard here are the different ways. Always reference the docket number: 20170166.
1. You can email in your comments. clerk@psc.state.fl.us
2. They will leave extra forms at the meeting. (I will collect a bunch and we can then get them out to who wants one.) These are official PSC forms for comment that you need to mail in.
3. You can also submit your comments online via efile. http://www.psc.state.fl.us/ClerkOffice/EFilingRequirements

(This looks cumbersome but it is essentially filling out their efile cover letter and attaching it to your comments which needs to be a pdf.
4. You can also write out your comments with name and address and have someone read it into the record on the day o the meeting. If anyone elects to do this they should be prepared to wait possibly until the end of the public comment period to have it read into record. PSC wants to give residents in attendance a chance to speak first.
This rate increase is considered a “limited preceding” vs. a full rate increase. It is where the utility is asking for a rate increase for specific projects. During a full rate increase a more thorough evaluation of Pluris’ accounting is done, but not the case for a limited preceding. The projects Pluris are seeking funds for are: water softener, main break (Maxim St), office building and electronic water meters.
