What a difficult year for us all!
Due to Covid-19 Wedgefield Firewise has been unable to have our monthly meetings. This has not stopped our work as we continue to fight to lower our neighborhood’s wildfire risk. This year the Florida Forest Service’s Mitigation Team is establishing a critical Fireline that protects us all along our Northern Boundary.
In addition, a really cool Bluebird project for the Wedgefield School was completed with this model for the students. We installed 11 Bluebird Boxes on the campus back in February of this year. This month the boxes came down but will be reinstalled this February. This model was made and donated by the fabulous John Kennedy, will make its home in the Wedgefield School Lobby. This project has been a
great success and so far over 50 baby Bluebirds have been born on campus! The students are going to enjoy looking inside.
