WELCOME TO WEDGEFIELD - A Deed Restricted Community

Neighborhood Watch August/September 2019

Each Month Neighborhood Watch Information will continue to be published in an ongoing effort to keep our community informed on crime watch matters.

The Wedgefield NHW is strictly watch and report. No pursuit, no patrol, no confrontation, just watch and report.

During the last half of AUGUST to the present date of SEPTEMBER 10, 2019 based on Orange County Sheriff’s crime statistics on OCSO web site we have had 2 auto burglaries in the 20600 block of NETTLETON. I received a call regarding vandalism to a vehicle on Quinn in the 20900 block.

By the time you get this newsletter, we will have celebrated Neighborhood Watch Night Out in the park on October 1, 2019. Hopefully, everyone attending had a good time meeting our neighbors and enjoyed the ice cream sundaes along with your picnic dinner.

Since we have concentrated on meeting our neighbors in the last couple of months I would like to discuss the importance of being a GOOD NEIGHBOR.

Only you can answer the following questions and in some way, I hope to take the appropriate action if needed.

  1. Do you know your neighbor’s name and how to contact them?
  2. Does your neighbor know who you are and how to contact you?
  3. Do you or your neighbor know who is authorized in either’s yard?
  4. Do you have an agreement with neighbors regarding mail or newspapers while away even for a day?
  5. Do you remind a neighbor if their garage door is open when it should not be and are you thankful when they return the favor?
  6. Do you always LOCK your HOME and CAR?
  7. Is NEW CONSTRUCTION near and do you know how to contact the builder?
  8. Do you feel comfortable reporting a crime in progress to 911 or reporting suspicious activity to (407) 836 – HELP (4357) and then calling the Wedgefield NHW Coordinator at (407) 679-6644?

If the answers to these questions are YES you are indeed a GOOD NEIGHBOR and an asset to the safety and well being of our neighborhood. If any answer is NO then we know what needs to be done.

SPECIAL THANKS to Denise Grage our NHW Facebook Coordinator for keeping our NHW Facebook page neighborly and smooth running. A Well done to everyone involved with the NHW Program.

Now let us “Make it a Habit” and to BE SURE TO LOCK UP, be good neighbors and make the effort to be observant and take appropriate action. “SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING” To report a crime in progress, fire or medical emergency Dial 911

The number to report suspicious activity or a crime committed Dial 407-836-HELP (4357) After dialing the appropriate OCSO Number THEN PHIL UNSER at 407-679-6644 (24hrs)
