The Movie Lunch Bunch has been gathering every Tuesday followed by going to the movies. We’ve even started celebrating 2018 birthdays—Kathleen Woodhouse was first. We’ve tried some tried and true restaurants and some new ones too. The end of the year and early new year is a perfect time to see some great movies during the awards season.
The nine movies that are nominated for best picture for an Academy Award are: “Call Me By Your Name,” “Darkest Hour,” “Dunkirk,” “Get Out,” “Lady Bird,” “Phantom Thread,” “The Post,” “The Shape of Water,” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” All of them have seen some of the movies and a few have seen them all! The Bunch gathers on Oscar Awards Night to watch the show together and try to predict the winners. One of them will guess the most correct and win the coveted traveling trophy of the Movie Lunch Bunch to proudly display for a year. Winners in the past are: 2015 Sylvia Cox; 2016 Janet Berglund; and 2017 Kathleen Woodhouse. Who will be 2018’s winner?
