Wedgefield Garden Club chose a winner for May’s Yard Of the Month. We chose the Ortuno home at 19950 Lansdowne St. Corner of Bastings CT. 
The area viewed was Bancroft to Dallas, The Reserve, north to Wedgefield boundary.
We were out on Saturday morning to view the area.
Paco and Cielo moved here from Miami in December. Paco formerly was an anchor for Univision television network. Now, he and Cielo have a ministry called Por Fe, which means For Faith. Cielo is a pastor, and they produce videos and broadcasting shows. They came to Orlando to escape the fierce hurricanes in Miami, hurricane devastation decreases further north.
Their estate has sweeping lawns and lovely old oaks. Beautiful plantings are nearer to the plantation type house with a palm, Crape Myrtle and a peeling bark tree which may be silver Maple or a Birch, a few other possibilities but, we’re not sure. There was also Mexican petunia, gold-tipped photinia and back of the border was evergreen purple diamond loropetalum shrub. Hibiscus was also in the area, and blooming roses added by Cielo, reds, and yellows were noticed. It was so nice to meet the Ortunas and view their lovely garden!
