WELCOME TO WEDGEFIELD - A Deed Restricted Community

Community Notes…. From Your WHOA

Wedgefield LogoTo all those property owners that are frustrated with the inability of WHOA to gain compliance with the covenants and restrictions, I feel your pain. WHOA has to deal with these issues daily, we send notices that are ignored and make visits to the offending sites with limited success. The common theme is that the “HOA is voluntary I don’t belong” and “I don’t have to comply with the rules” or just “sue me”. That’s where things get difficult. As we all know WHOA is voluntary and doesn’t have a management company. There is no revenue stream (with only 150 paying members) to pursue the issues correctly. Any litigation is expensive with no guarantee that the expenses could be recovered. Our friends in the State Legislature have also set new rules regarding fining and due process that being said, we are currently having the covenants interpreted and redrafted to support WHOA.
We will continue to do our best and pursue all violations regardless of our less than successful outcome. Membership dues ($50.00) do not bind you to anything or require your participation. It does fund community events and pays for things that benefit the community as a whole. Regardless, whether you are a resident of the city or the estates, we are one community.
As a side note….Many of the violations that are reported are actual Orange County restrictions. Several months ago we posted information about the 311 app. This will allow you to remain anonymous and will get code enforcement out here to check on the problem, issue a violation and get some results. So the question here is….Do you want to be part of the solution? Maybe a simple knock on your neighbor’s door will let them know that there is a problem. You can even take it a step further and offer to help. When it comes down to it, we are all in this together and compliance starts at home. If you know that you are disregarding the rules, please correct them. Your neighbors will appreciate it. If you want WHOA to become stronger and do more to correct the violations. Please join us in helping make Wedgefield one of the best places to live in Central Florida.
