AUGUST YARD OF THE MONTH

The panel of judges for the Wedgefield Gardening Friends “Yard of the Month” have chosen 19300 Peabody for the Month of August.

August 2018 Yard of the MonthCongratulations go to Juan and Sarah Quiles who proudly have consistently maintained a neat and manicured looking landscape on a large lot lakefront property. They are retired and moved to Wedgefield 13 years ago. Most of their family, relatives, and grandchildren live in the area.
The large lot is filled with many varieties of trees, bushes, flowers, and plants including magnolia, different colors of crate myrtle, loquat tree, caladiums, cypress trees, bottle brush, crown of thorns, desert roses and banana plants, sugar cane, to mention a few.

The well-distributed landscaping provides interesting foliage and flowers throughout the growing season. The different color crate myrtles border the patio and interesting planters, pots, birdbaths, and wind sculptures add character to this charming home and yard.

The variety of plants also help to represent the family’s love for the environment. Growing herbs is one of Sarah’s wishes, however, deer eat them, that is why she is planning on getting until a greenhouse.

The beautification of the well-maintained grass, trimmed hedges, flower beds, bushes and trees enhance the visual attractiveness of the lakefront relaxation.

Honorable mentions are 3530 Coronet, 19204 Paddock, 19602 Peabody, 3302 Coronet and 19408 Oakleaf. Congratulations to them for having organized and manicured landscaping
