I had 2 calls regarding the arrest of two residents after one bailed from a stolen car that was followed to Abby Street. I also observed 2 reports of stolen vehicles on our NHW Facebook page but have no additional information other than the fact that the perpetrator is still on the run but he is known by OCSO. Both of these incidents point out the necessity to stay vigilant and always lock up. Unlocked vehicles will be visited and if a valet key is found it will go for a ride.
On a different note, We have a new Crime Prevention Officer replacing DFC Forrest Best: DFC Julie Burgos, FCP, FCPP Orange County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit-Sector 2 Julie.burgos@ocfl.net. We will get to meet her during our August HOA Meeting on August 14, 2018, at 7 PM in the Wedgefield Golf Clubhouse.
Remember, the best crime prevention device known to man or woman is a GOOD NEIGHBOR and a good neighbor knows what to do when things do not look right, they call OCSO. OCSO will be celebrating their NHW Night Out in October and we will do so again with them. We must know our neighbors and they need to know us and we cannot wait till October to do that.
Special thanks to Denise Grage our NHW FaceBook Coordinator for keeping our NHW FaceBook page neighborly and smooth running. Denise, we thank you.
Now let us all be good neighbors and make the effort to be observant and take appropriate action “SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING”
To report a crime in progress, fire or medical emergency Dial 911. The number to report suspicious activity or a crime committed Dial 407-836-HELP (4357).
After dialing the appropriate OCSO Number:
PLEASE THEN CALL PHIL UNSER at 407-679-6644 (24hrs). This helps Phil to keep an accounting of what is happening in our neighborhood and make sure that these reports stay accurate and up-to-date.
