Neighborhood Watch – Wedgefield Park Issues

Attention Wedgefield residents, we are experiencing a number of disturbing incidents in our Wedgefield park. We continue to have issues with dirt bikes in and around the park. Recent signage posted at the park tells us what to do if things are not right at the park. Please if you observe criminal activity do call OCSO, remember this is our community park and we do not want it ruined by inconsiderate individuals. The park is closed at sunset and those who violate that could be trespassed.

We continue to have incidents in our Wedgefield park that range from fighting, underage drinking, and profanity in front of youngsters. Yesterday a mother was assaulted by a teenager and even though OCSO was called no deputy arrived. I am certain that the Christmas vacation has resulted with unusually high park patronage and this may be a passing issue. Passing issue or not it is an immediate issue and everyone who observes criminal activity or suspicious activity needs to call OCSO and give me a call as well. The reason for the call to me is to be sure that the incident is documented for future reference and to ensure responsible OCSO response.

The deputy that responded to the underage drinking issue today encouraged the individual that called OCSO and me to tell everyone to call if they see something and the issue of repeated calls may result in closer scrutiny of our Wedgefield Park by OCSO.

Now let us all be good neighbors and make the effort to be observant and take appropriate action “SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING”

To report a crime in progress, fire or medical emergency Dial 911. The number to report suspicious activity or a crime committed Dial 407-836-HELP (4357).

After dialing the appropriate OCSO Number:

PLEASE THEN CALL PHIL UNSER at 407-679-6644 (24hrs). This helps Phil to keep an accounting of what is happening in our neighborhood and make sure that these reports stay accurate and up-to-date.
