The Wedgefield Green Thumb Garden Club has found a beautiful Yard of the Month for us all to enjoy: the Gwendolyn and Roger Gray home at 2351 Bastings Street. The yard itself is lush and green and the foundation plantings are azaleas, crotons, and lorapetulm. Annuals currently blooming are red petunias and white petunias on one side of the entrance way; the other side has yellow marigolds and orange marigolds. The Grays have followed a garden suggestion of massing colors to draw your eye. The gate and driveway are lined with various palms and on the far side of the house they have amassed blooming bottle brush trees during their twelve year stay in this house they had built. Lorapetulm are also known as the Chinese Fringe Bush. Congratulations!
