Yard of the Month – June 2016

The Yard of the Month Committee for May selected a beautiful yard in the Reserve belonging to Wedgefield newcomers Michael and Anna Fox of 2626 Lyndscape.  Michael and Anna moved here in August of 2015.
They were very pleased that their yard was selected for Yard of the Month as they have been working hard on it, especially the gardens in front.  Anna was quick to say that Michael has done most of the work and she is very proud of what he has accomplished.  The first thing you notice as you approach their home is the beautiful magnolia tree in bloom.  The back of the garden is bordered by a beautiful row of holly and the front border has several dark green grass-like liriope plants, azaleas and periwinkle with pink blooms for color.  There are also croton, several hibiscus and purple ruellia (wild petunia) surrounding a small fountain.  They recently planted a small pink bougainvillea to the left of the fountain and a small pineapple in a pot at the edge of the front porch.  The wreath on their front door is a nice finishing touch.  The Wedgefield Garden Club would like to welcome them to the neighborhood and congratulate them on a job well done.

There were several beautiful yards in this area that deserve honorable mention:  2608 Regency Oak Lane has a very beautiful and unusual collection of large container gardens featuring a wide variety of succulents; 2612 Pine Glen Court has a very colorful garden featuring crotons, palm and bamboo; 19627 Knight Tale Lane has a lovely yard with a beautiful vine, several palm trees and a tall evergreen near the front door; 2984 Lyndscape and 19306 Mardi Gras also have lovely gardens, with nicely landscaped and maintained yards.
