WELCOME TO WEDGEFIELD - A Deed Restricted Community

Wedgefield Water Update

Our monthly water meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 24th at 6:30pm at the Wedgefield Clubhouse. Please encourage your neighbors to attend especially if they have not signed the water form yet. Orange County Utilities (OCU) is waiting to see our community’s interest level before moving forward. If you have lived in Wedgefield for 20+ years you would know that this water issue has been taken up several times and this is the first time we have OCU at the table for discussion. They have used our current water rates and usage to estimate what they would charge us TODAY if they took over the plant. Honestly, I personally believe that if we are not successful this time around then Orange County will never entertain this action again. Failure is not an option here.

The presentation and proposed rate sheet are available on the WHOA website:

The signature form is also available online. If you have not signed one then please print it out and sign it.

If you want to help please contact either Pam Dimarzio, Connie West or Evelyn Perez at 321-234-6671.

Ongoing Issues: We have been getting an increased number of calls from frustrated neighbors regarding their water bills or ongoing water quality issues and concerns so with that in mind, below is a list of ALL of those who should be contacted:

Pluris Customer Service: 888-758-7471 or customercare@plurisusa.com
FDEP: nathan.hess@dep.state.fl.us
Commissioner Bonilla: District5@ocfl.net
Mayor Jacobs: Mayor@ocfl.net
Public Service Commission: contact@psc.state.fl.us or call 800-511-0809

By launching a formal complaint there is documented evidence of issues for the County to follow. If we do not speak up,
then it is assumed there are no issues.

What can residents do to help?

• Volunteers to help go door to door and get signatures. Connie West is helping manage the volunteers. If you have volunteered then expect a call from her shortly.
• Volunteer to assist with research. If you are computer savvy then we can use your help.
• Speak to your neighbors that are concerned about the acquisition and help with their questions or have them call us at the number listed above.
• Attend public meetings to show your support and bring a neighbor with you. Board of County Commission meetings are held at the downtown Orlando Orange County Administration building (201 S. Rosalind Avenue) and during work hours.

Community meeting are usually either at the Wedgefield K8 School or the Wedgefield Clubhouse.

Please call Pam Dimarzio or Connie West at 321-234-6671 if you can help.
