WEDGEFIELD NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH – OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2017

During the last half of OCTOBER to the present date of NOVEMBER 12, 2017 based on Orange County Sheriff’s crime statistics listed on the OCSO web site we have had TWO reported residential burglaries ONE in the 2900 block of ABALONE and ONE in the 19300 block of ORTEGA. We also had a stolen vehicle in the 2200 block of BABBITT. I am certain that we have had other crimes that have not made it to the web site nor have the victims called me as I have requested.
I have not had the calls regarding solicitations this year but then the month is not over so remember, know who is at your door before you open it. Criminals sometimes pose as couriers delivering gifts and it is common for door to door solicitations for charity when there is no charity involved. KNOW WHO IS AT YOUR DOOR BEFORE OPENING – IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO TALK TO THEM, DO BE SURE THEY AT LEAST KNOW YOU ARE HOME.

On a happy note EVELYN RODRIGUEZ PEREZ continues to keep our Wedgefield NHW Face Book page neighborly and smooth running with 1,671 MEMBERS.

That will be the last time I will post Evelyn’s accomplishments because we have a new NHW FaceBook Coordinator DENISE GRAGE. Denise is an accomplished FaceBook Admin and will do us well but it still will be hard to replace Evelyn as she has done a commendable job for us as the NHW FaceBook Coordinator.
Let’s review NHW FaceBook postings requirements to help Denise. First and foremost the post needs to have been reported to OCSO before it is posted. (Lost family pets excluded) And it is then requested that you also call me at (407) 679-6644.

“SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING”

To report a crime in progress, fire or medical emergency Dial 911. The number to report suspicious activity or a crime committed Dial 407-836-HELP (4357).

After dialing the appropriate OCSO Number:

PLEASE THEN CALL PHIL UNSER at 407-679-6644 (24hrs). This helps Phil to keep an accounting of what is happening in our neighborhood and make sure that these reports stay accurate and up-to-date.
