NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH REPORT – June/July 2017

Neighborhood Watch LogoNEIGHBORHOOD WATCH REPORT

No pursuit, No patrol, No confrontation, JUST WATCH and REPORT.

During the last half of JUNE to the present date of JULY 12, 2017 based on Orange County Sheriff’s crime statistics listed on the OCSO web site we have had only 1 reported residential burglary in the 2500 block of BANCROFT. I am certain that we have had other crimes that have not made it to the web site nor have the victims called me as I have requested.

I have informed Master Deputy Stanley Murray (OCSO NHW Night Out Point of Contact) that this year Wedgefield will be celebrating NHW Night Out on Both dates but without any formal event.

This year we will celebrate as stated below on both dates:
This year in Wedgefield the NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH NIGHT OUT is to be held on Tuesday AUGUST 1 and Tuesday OCTOBER 3rd. The published theme this year is “Making Time for Ridding Crime”. We are tasked with coming up with a celebration theme that relates and I have selected “MAKE TIME to MEET and GREET your NEIGHBOR a Neighborly event” as our theme. This is something we should already be doing; that is getting to know our neighbors.

Remember the best crime prevention device known to man or woman is a “GOOD NEIGHBOR”

and a good neighbor is one that knows what to do when things do not look right – they call OCSO. So on August 1st Turn the porch light on and lock the door and go next door to meet the neighbors.

We will also do the same on October 3, 2017. It is important that we take this effort seriously as we have had significant building with new neighbors arriving daily.

On a happy note EVELYN RODRIGUEZ PEREZ continues to keep our Wedgefield NHW Face Book page neighborly and smooth running with 1,546 MEMBERS with several in the Que.

Now let us all be good neighbors and make the effort to be observant and take appropriate action “SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING” To report a crime in progress, fire or medical emergency Dial 911.

The number to report suspicious activity or a crime committed Dial 407-836-HELP (4357)

After dialing the appropriate OCSO Number THEN PHIL UNSER at 407-679-6644 (24hrs)
