WELCOME TO WEDGEFIELD - A Deed Restricted Community

Neighborhood Watch | March/April 2017

During the last half of MARCH to the present date of APRIL 12, 2017 based on Orange County Sheriff’s crime statistics listed on the OCSO web site we have had 2 residential burglaries: One on PADDOCK in the 19xxx Block and One on DECKER in the 27xx Block. We also had 2 reported auto burglaries ONE on DALLAS in the 5xxx Block and ONE on MACON in the 20xxx block. We also had tires stolen of a vehicle leaving it on blocks in the 20xxx block of YAM.
In addition I have received a phone call regarding vandalism on ABALONE, and have also observed postings on Face Book regarding several un neighborly events regarding reckless driving etc. I again remind everyone that the process to stop some of this stuff is first a call to OCSO on the appropriate number 911 or (407) 836- 4357 and then a call to me (407) 679-6644 and then post on Face Book if you wish. Regarding Golf Course or Canal issues after hours again OCSO then call me as the designated representative.
I also have received 3 or 4 calls regarding smoke and what to do. Well the Gov. has declared an emergency regarding the fires and the condition suitable for more fires, and we as part of NHW are bound to watch and report. If we see smoke we should if possible attempt to go to the source and if at any point along the route to the source we see flames we then report it. The key and requirement is the actual sighting of flames.

On a different note I attended an amateur radio club meeting last night and our Orange County Communications Auxiliary is taking this fire situation seriously and is on alert to man our designated shelters the same as if we had a hurricane or other disaster like a fire that would cause evacuation and the opening of our several shelters.
confrontation with those who do not respect the rights of others. Again see something say something.
On a happy note EVELYN RODRIGUEZ PEREZ continues to keep our Wedgefield NHW Face Book page neighborly and smooth running 1,454 MEMBERS.
Now let us all be good neighbors and make the effort to be observant and take appropriate action “SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING
