Citizens On Patrol is a volunteer unit of the Orange County Sheriff's Office, providing the Sheriff's Office with extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance law enforcement.

Neighborhood Watch (Newsletter, June 2010) 
The best crime prevention device ever invented is a good neighbor.  The security steps you and your neighbors take as a group are just as important as the things you do individually.  Wedgefield Neighborhood watch includes an effort to inform every member of good home security techniques, and marking and listing your property, and neighborhood participation.  In addition it includes watching out for and reporting suspicious activities in our neighborhood as follows:

Ranger Drainage District
The mission of the Ranger Drainage District is to implement the provisions of Chapter 298 Florida Statutes, in a manner that ensures proper storm water management within the boundaries of the district and to operate with a continued commitment to education and outreach to its residents and landowners.

Being Firewise begins with you. The Firewise Communities/USA standards are designed and maintained to give you maximum flexibility in creating the best plan for your community.  Wedgefield has enjoyed strong support from Orange County Fire Rescue Department, Florida Division of Forestry, Florida Department of Emergency Management, Ranger Drainage District, St. John's Water Management, Orange County Planning Department, University of Florida Orange County Cooperative Extension Service and Orange County Master Gardeners.
