JUNE YARD OF THE MONTH – Dan and Nancy Worswick

June’s winners are Dan and Nancy Worswick, 19438 Paddock on the corner of Paddock and Caesar.

The Yard of the Month Committee for June had a very easy decision. As soon as we saw the beautiful landscaping, complete with a large pond with weeping willow and cypress trees,, we knew Dan and Nancy Worswick’s property at 19438 Paddock was our winner.

As luck would have it, they were at home when we drove up to ask if they would allow us to take some photos of their property. Nancy answered the door and was very excited to learn the reason for our visit. She told us her husband had worked very hard on the design of their landscaping and had been hoping to win Yard of the Month for a long time. She called him to the door but did not tell him why and video-recorded his reaction as we told him the news. He was very excited and invited us to see his home and backyard as well.

The back yard and gardens were beautiful and the patio had beautiful hanging baskets with Christmas cactus, geraniums and other flowering plants. When you approach this property from the street, the first thing you notice is the Ponytail Palm as well as the knockout roses and walking iris along the walk to the front door. In addition to the flowering plants – lilies, petunias, bougainvillea and hibiscus, there were caladium, Jack Frost and Topia. We were impressed by their beautiful green lawn, especially under such dry conditions.

There were several beautiful yards in this area that deserve honorable mention: 3530 Coronet, 3302 Coronet and a third home on Coronet that did not display a house number, also 3201 Dallas, 19500 Paddock, 19251 Calvert, and 19602 Peabody all had nicely landscaped and maintained yards.
